Seta Workshop at Web Summit Vancouver 2026

I’ll be in Vancouver from May 6 to 15, and right in the middle of that trip is Web Summit, May 11-14. This will be our second time attending as part of the official Uruguayan delegation organized by Uruguay XXI, with the support of the Embassy of Canada in Uruguay. It’s a privilege to represent our country at an event of this scale, and it’s not something we take lightly.

Why We Go

The honest answer is pretty simple. We go to meet people. We don’t go to collect leads or run back-to-back pitches. We go because some of the best collaborations we’ve had at Seta Workshop started with a straightforward conversation: someone building something, us genuinely curious about it, and both sides realizing pretty quickly that there was a good fit. That’s the pattern we’ve seen play out over nine years of working with startups and scaling companies across North America. The relationship comes first. The work follows.

Who We Are

I’m the co-founder of Seta Workshop, a boutique nearshore software development agency based in Montevideo, Uruguay. We work with startups and growth-stage companies, primarily in the US and Canada, on web application development, mobile app development, and IT staff augmentation. We’re a team of ten. We’ve worked with companies like BizzyCar, Ikayzo, and Shopwell Design in British Columbia, and with Mercado Libre, the largest e-commerce platform in Latin America. We hold a 4.9 rating on Clutch across 13 reviews. We keep the project load intentionally small so we can actually show up for the work.

Why Canada, Why Vancouver

Canada has been a growing focus for us over the past few years, and it’s been organic. The time zones work well for collaboration, the tech ecosystem is serious about quality, and the people we’ve met have been easy to work with. We’re not the only ones who’ve noticed this. Uruguay currently exports around 1% of its ICT services to Canada, and there’s real effort going into growing that. Last year I spoke on a panel about exactly this. The Uruguay-Canada tech relationship and what makes it work. You can read about it here. Vancouver in particular has a thriving startup scene, and Web Summit has been a great way to connect with founders and technical leads who are in the middle of building something real. If you’re one of them, I’d love to hear about it.

Let’s Meet in Vancouver

José Gazzano, co-founder of Seta Workshop

I'll be around from May 6, so if you want to grab a coffee before the event starts, I'm happy to make that happen. During Web Summit, come find us at the Uruguay stand. Either way, get in touch and we'll sort something out. We'll bring mate and a genuine interest in what you're working on.

Let's build something
together!
